How Pathway Tax Solutions LLC handles information submitted through the public website, secure tax intake, and authenticated client portal.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, Pathway may receive contact information, tax-service intake information, messages, client-account information, requested tax documents, and information necessary to provide tax services. Security records may also include dates, session activity, browser information, and limited network information used to detect abuse and protect accounts.

Public intake data minimization

The public tax-intake and contact forms are intentionally designed not to request Social Security numbers, ITINs, bank account numbers, identity-document images, passwords, or tax-document contents. Clients should place sensitive documents only in the authenticated client portal or another channel specifically approved by Pathway.

How information is used

Information may be used to respond to inquiries, evaluate service requests, onboard clients, prepare and manage tax engagements, request and review documents, communicate with clients, maintain business records, prevent fraud, investigate security events, and meet legal or professional obligations.

Tax return information

Tax return information is handled subject to applicable federal and state requirements, professional obligations, engagement terms, and any consent requirements that apply to the use or disclosure of that information. Pathway does not intend the public website to replace engagement-specific disclosures or consents.

Security safeguards

Pathway uses administrative and technical safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, including authenticated document access, restricted administrator sessions, multi-factor and passkey capabilities, request validation, security logging, and controls designed to keep uploaded documents from being served as ordinary public website files. No website or internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Service providers

Pathway may use service providers that support hosting, communications, tax preparation, security, backup, or other business operations. Providers should receive only the access reasonably necessary for their role and may be subject to contractual or legal safeguards appropriate to the information involved.

Sale and advertising

Pathway does not intend to sell client tax information or sensitive client information for targeted advertising. Website analytics or infrastructure services, if enabled, should be configured in a manner appropriate for a tax practice and should not receive tax documents or taxpayer identifiers.

Retention and disposal

Records may be retained as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain tax and business records, comply with legal or professional requirements, respond to disputes, and maintain security. Records that are no longer required should be disposed of using methods appropriate to their sensitivity.

Your account responsibilities

Use a unique password, keep authentication methods and devices secure, sign out of shared devices, and contact Pathway promptly if you believe your account, email, device, or tax information may have been accessed without authorization.

Questions or security concerns

Use the Contact page for privacy questions. If you suspect unauthorized access, identify the issue without sending sensitive taxpayer identifiers through the public form.
